Michelle at Jechory Glass Designs generously took the time to answer some questions so we could get to know her better!
1. Tell me more about you!
I live in beautiful Wisconsin with my husband. I have 3 grown sons, and a sweet little 7 year old granddaughter. The name of my shop, Jechory, is a combination of my boys names, Jeremy, Chris, and Cory.
2. What made you decide to pursue art?
I have always loved anything glass, and decided to take some stained glass classes in my community back in the early 90's.
3. How did you get started in making terrariums?
Terrariums have made a comeback in the last 3-4 years. I thought why not make a few designs for my shop and see if they sell. They've been very popular.
4. What do you draw inspiration from?
I love looking at the beautiful stained glass windows in my church. They were crafted in Austria years ago.
5. Do you have any advice for other creative entrepreneurs?
Don't be afraid to do craft shows. You get instant feedback from customers about your products and also great ideas from them.
6. What are you working on next?
I have another shop [you can find that shop here!] that I sell jewelry in, that I have neglected for a while. So I want to spend more time working on my butterfly jewelry and coming up with a few new ideas.
7. What are some of your favorite Etsy artists?
Thank you Michelle for taking the time to let us get to know you better!
Two years ago I was searching for glass terrariums to house my air plants. I of course turned to Etsy for my search and in no time came across the lovey work of Michelle at Jechory Glass Designs. To say I was pleased with my purchase would be an understatement! I chose the dodechahedron shaped terrarium and it is a showstopper. Each terrarium comes with an air plant (including care instructions), sand, and decorative rocks and shells. Michelle cuts and solders each glass terrarium by had and the workmanship is perfection. I have rotated my terrarium around my house many times, and it looks amazing on my mantel, builtin bookshelves, kitchen table, coffee table, and just about anywhere! The latest home for my lovely terrarium is on my living room coffee table.
(do you spy my pretty kitty in this next shot?!)
My terrarium also looks great elevated on my little antler cake stand! (The antler cake stand was a find from Horchow and is unfortunately no longer available.)
Isn't my terrarium gorgeous!! It is a great conversation piece and adds the perfect finish to wherever I decide to place it. I can't get enough of it! Thanks Jechory Glass Designs!
Another note worth mentioning...my rambunctious kitten bumped the terrarium off its stand and it didn't break! That is a sign of truly fine construction and craftsmanship!

Terrariums are wonderful keepsakes and can perk up any bookshelf, table, shelf, or counter! Another perk of terrariums are that air plants are very easy to care for. I hope you check out Jechory Glass Designs when you are looking for your next gift!
